iPad Docks | The Best iPad Dock?
The need for an iPad Dock is obvious. You want to have somewhere to safely store the iPad when you’re not mobile, to charge it and probably to easily connect to dedicated iPad Speakers. There are a number of iPad Docks on the market right now and more are sure to follow. How much you spend depends on the funcationality. Do you want to simply keep the iPad stored upright? Do you want the iPad Dock to charge the iPad? Do you want an iPad Keyboard attached?
Take a look at the best iPad Docks currently on offer:
If you are happy with the onscreen keyboard, you can simply buy a regular docking station without a keyboard. This iPad Dock offers the standard features – the ability to synchronise, an audio recording jack and 30-pin connection, and charging capacities, but does not include a keyboard.
Apple iPad Keyboard Dock – USD69.99
If you want to use your iPad for serious writing —such as writing an article like this one—you’ll want a real, physical keyboard. One of the Keyboard Dock’s biggest advantages over a Bluetooth keyboard and a separate dock is stability. Thanks to its heavy, deep base and non-slip bottom, the Keyboard Dock is unexpectedly secure. The iPad doesn’t shake at all while you’re typing, and even when you tap the very top of the screen, you get only a tiny bit of wobble. This is a welcome feature.
Griffin A-Frame Tabletop Stand – USD49.99
A nice strong and stable stand for your iPad from one of the leading electronics accessory makers. The A-Frame is solid metal with rubber coatings on the base. The main advantage of this stand is that you can position your iPad both horizontal and vertical (something that the official Apple stand does not allow). The main disadvantage in my opinion is that although the stand does not block access to the iPad’s USB connector, the stand does not itself connect via USB or audio for that matter.
